sweet!!!! Does plastic sweat when it gets warm on the inside? I thought about doing this once but didnt think it could handle getting trailered..Keep us updated! Be sure to anchor that thing down good when you get it on the ice.

it does sweat alittle but its all plastic so it doesnt matter. this one was on the shelf at Lowes assembled on a pallet so all we had to do was put in windows and holes in the floor. mr. buddy heats it up just fine.

Id re-think the tow rope eye placement, it will surely tear out in deep snow like that.

A hitch system of some kind would be ideal.

Really think it would tear out ?? Ive pulled a lot with screw in eyes. Never had one pull out once there seated. Bent yes but that was just beacuse i was going to fast pulling a load of logs out of the woods with my wheeler and caught a stump.

You might want to consider putting a brace of some type between the runners where your I-bolts are located.  The 4x4's are going to want to toe in on you when you are pulling it and you could bust the 4x4's...  I learned this the hard way a few years back...

Nice idea and great looking shack.

Sure enough the ends of the 4x4s will split.

Ive pulled out eye bolts when the snow is deep, and I olny have 3 and a half inches of clearance just like Treb.

Here are a few more mods to add to the list of what is possible. I am on foot exclusively and have to pull over icy and deep snow from time to time. life is a lot better now. Thanks to this site I have learned the answers to questions I did not even know existed.

Montana_Ice,
How does the sled sit with the power auger hanging off the side? I want to add a mount for my IceGator. It's heavy and I am concerned the weight hanging off the side might cause the sled to flip over sideways.

jbird68 I  have the jiffy model 30, 10 inch auger and it weighs a ton and is really awkward to pack on or in the single man ice house. I feel your pain!
The power head does hang a little off to the side, but there are no problems up higher on the skis, or down low on the ice. The only thing I would say is the auger needs to be bungee corded down to reduce the possibility of catching a corner and ripping off the fork holder. Make sure that you have a three point triangle when you bolt off the holder to keep it from rocking and tearing out the plastic back. I reinforced the back of the sled with a scrap of plywood.

I hope this helps!

good luck!

Those tow like a dream!  Nice find!
[/quot

I have acquired a travel trailer 1969 Vacationaire.  This is the only picture that I have found that is just like my trailer.  Can you post photos of the back with the word vacationaire on it and maybe a few more of the inside.  We haven't been able to find out any info about this travel trailer.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Shelia Mcguire
