Fished the little lake on a drop  off between 16 and 20 feet of water 1/5/19 from 3:30 to 6 pm.  The weeds came up 5 feet on the vex, lots of lookers, only a few short eyes were caught.  Still trying to figure this place out!

I didnít have much luck on the little lake this morning. I should of maybe tried around Baptist. A ton of small perch. Marked fish like crazy.
Everyone I talked with on the ice was in the same situation.

It can be tough, I am about to hire one of the guides if we do not get any ice in our area.

There is a system to fish that lake and it requires drilling and moving which I am not used to doing.

Quick report....I went to CL yesterday.  You are very limited on the big lake with the open water.  I hit the little lake and it had 10 inches everywhere I drilled on the north side.  Couldnít keep the 2-4 inch perch off my line....very annoying.  Anyway, for anyone thinking about going, be careful on the big lake and you should be good to go on the little lake.

Thanks for the report. My buddy and I were thinking of driving up from Des Moines on Saturday. Now wondering if it will be worth the trip.

There should be plenty of ice this weekend. Out by Baptist camp also has plenty of good ice.

Headed up next weekend.  Figured if Clear Lake was slow would bounce around to Silver, Rice and possibly Crystal depending on ice conditions.

Heading up there this next weekend, figure chasing yellow bass will be the best action, anybody had any luck? Haven't fished Clear Lake in at least 2 years

We plan on driving there the last weekend. Any updates in ice quality would help my anxiety. Lol. Thanks

10 in of ice, and zero good fish yesterday. All dinky perch, eyes, and yellows.
Formerly Just a random ice fisherman-didnt care for that name anyway

Got on the ice yesterday after she firmed up from the meltdown. 17 inches and growing (sounded like a thunderstorm). Fishing was bad while the perch were active.  Once they went to bed it was as good as I have ever seen
