brown trout thru the ice?
« on: Dec 24, 2007, 11:16 AM »
theres a lake in montmorency county that the dnr stocks yearly with brown/rainbow trout that i wanna give a shot this weekend. ive fished for rainbows thru the ice practically my entire life, but never for browns. my question is are the tactics for fishin browns the same a rainbows? i.e.- 4-15 fow, just under the ice, or do browns prefer the deeper water in the winter months just like in the summer? was plannin on using minnows and wigglers for bait, does anyone else have any preferences? any tips would be greatly appreciated! merry christmas!
