hey guys was wondering wat everyone thought of doing a get togther at either place...

I know it is difficult to decide on the perfect location when there are so many factors to consider: the size of the lake, location, availability of parking and bait, quality of the fishing etc...
I do think you have a great idea and am very interested. I think it would be good to hear suggestions from several other interested members as to the location and date.

I have found from past experience that if you try to set this up democratically you will have a hard time getting it off the ground. You'll get a dozen different guys voting for a dozen different locations.
A get together is a great idea. Pick a location and date. Announce you will be there and anyone who wants to join in please come. Guys will chime in. Someone will offer to bring a grill. Someone else a pot of chili, another some vennie sausage and ..... well you get it. That's how the old Conesus gathering got started and it was a Huge success.
BTW - I only fished the SBH once last year and did manage a bunch of nice perch - all 10"+.

I'd love to see a get-together at the small boat harbor. Wanted to do more fishing there. what a better way than to hook up w/ new friends , have some food and drinks and learn. Just my opinion.

alright the small boat harbor it is how bout feburary second....its not a bad place can set up for pike...tonz of pannies...so that is my idea i got just about anything we would need...wat does every1 think?

February 02 would be perfect.We could call it Icefishermans Day instead of Groundhogs Day and pose the question;

Sat. Feb. 2nd. works for me. I'm off work that day. I'm going to talk to several friends that might want to go. Trying to get them to sign up on ice-shanty. I'll be bringing my 2 boys also(12 &15). This should be fun. I'm usually working on the day these are set up. Can I assume details will follow ? I'm more than happy to bring out food, bev., etc.

It usually the last w.e. of wqalter season. Its on the CUBE and He will let us know if he gonna have it agian.
I'am sure I'l see him somewhere soon.

I personally like the idea of the SBH, but I TOO dislike the catching odds there. I gotta a feeling we would be cleaning up more than fishing also. I hate seeing that much trash.
But the ideal sounds good.

I'm in....unlike allot of guys I like the SBH. I fish alone most times and really like the thickness of the ice there. Yeah...I'm chicken.(hate drillin through it though). So how do these things work...people walk around and say hi? I don't know too many local guys who ice fish, so it would be cool to meet some of you folks. Bring on the cold weather

My tourney at Cubalake is always the weekend before walleye season closes , it'll be march 08/08 or 09 [depending if I have to work or not], so Feb. 2, won't be a bad time at all for a sbh get together.

seriosly i figured wed get a better response...i guess not i know its a shi**y place but secure ice for the kids guantee of fish have caught some nice fish in there the last few years...but im thinkin i dont know if you guys have heard the trap attacks have been cancelled this year so silver is always an option 2...come on wny lets get talkin about some hardwater!!!

what kind of fish do you usually catch ay cuba? ive fished it once and got skunked so i really dont have an idea whats in there. ive fished SBH many times and have caught several grass perch but nothin to brag about.

crappie walleye pike....we got a secret spot there cannot go wrong we caught a winning fish in wizards tourny 2 years in a row

I would be in for SBH. It's a short trip up Rt. 5 for me. Hopefully the smelt will be in this year, you can fry them up on the ice!

I would suggest contacting the Buffalo News Paper and advise them of your plans for an event in Feb.

They have readers who would be interested who are not aware of this forum.
