grass pickerel
« on: Dec 06, 2007, 06:10 PM »
pulled my traps through the ice for the first time this year and there was one shinner and a grass pic got one last year and removed it from the small pond.I think this one went into the trap to eat as it regurgitated a shiner after I put him in my bait bucket. He now resides in my friends aquarium really cool lookin fish.

That's a sweet addition to the aquarium.
If fishing was work I'd never be sick!

We don't have many pickerel here in MI. We mostly got those pesky northern pike.

I'd rather have pike too.
Today I pulled my traps and four of them were in there and one shinner and three dead shinners that I think they regugitated. I think they ruined my gold mine  :'(

Not too many places where you can find those, I always called em redfin pickerel. I know one place we catch them in traps all the time and we still get good amounts of shiners out of the place.
How can you be icefishing if you're sitting at your computer???
