There's like 101 things to do with a coffee can.  What trick are you talking about?

Will, there are two ways to use a coffee can for keeping ice holes from freezing up.#1 Take 1/4 " copper tubing and coil it 5 or 6 times like a coil spring, big enough to go inside the can and have an inch on each side,on the bottom bend the tubing at a 90* angle to go through the side of can down at the bottom and solder(SP) leaving 1 1/2" sticking out.On the top leave a piece 18" long for a spout.Over 14" from your hole drill another one just deep enough to let the water fill it and add some slush to hold up can.Fill can with charcoal and light, sit can in hole to where the bottom tube is in water and it will syphin warm water up and through spout into your hole.#2 Drill your fishing hole then drill a hole 6" away only a couple of inches deep to put a coffee can full of charcoal in then chisel a trench from one hole to the other.Warm water from one hole runs into the other.Wish I could send pics.....Hope this helps.....Gary
