Well make what you want out of it. I just wish it would go back to "the way it used to be"

Evern though they are predicting warmer conditions than the 30 year average it still says it will be 1.3 degrees colder than last year.  Last year wasn't too bad even though we had a late start.  They can predict all they want, but it is up to mother nature.

I hope it's not true.  I tend to believe it when I see it.
I want an earlier start than last year

The employment of effort, hard work, time, and energy put in locating fish will offend noone.

makes you wonder if something this far away will have a global weather pattern impact.
There is only one theory about angling in which I have perfect confidence, and this is that the two words, least appropriate to any statement, about it, are the words "always" and "never."

I have never understood the NOAA predictions.  If they say a 33% chance of warmer than normal temps wouldn't that mean that there is also a 67% chance of below normal temps?   ;D

You never know what you are going to get in Indiana. On the worst years we still get 4 or 5 weeks of good ice in the end of jan/feb. Last year i tore the pike up between christmas and new years out of the boat. It was a blast.

I find it very interesting that they made these predictions using data from 1971 to 2000.  That means the data from the last 7 years isn't included in their forecast.  Nor is any data for the +/- 100 years of recorded temperture data before 1971.

Looks to me like their trying to paint the same old doom & gloom picture.  Don't fall for it.  I'm not saying this year will be colder or warmer.  I'm just saying something is fishy about this particular "prediction".

Good Call Kodiakman.....    It seems funny that anyone can bend the data and statistics to a certain view...

They say 73% of statistics is made up anyway..    ::) ::) ::)   If you can believe that even  ;)
