Hey did anyone get any cool ice fishing gear for Christmas??
I got a new Jig Rod, and ice fishing book and depth finders.

Got a vaccuum packer. I hate freezing fish but this may help keep them fresher without freezer burning. I also plan to use it to store fresh steelhead and salmon spawn, and to pack and freeze smelt to use for bait on fishing trips where live bait is not available.
If anyone has any tips for other uses, please post them or PM me. I want to use this thing to its full potential.

i got a new 8" hand auger and a pair of safty spikes to pull your self out of the water if you go through and i also got a great new ice fishing jaket and boy is it warm

I didn't get THAT much. I got a new Fish Trap Guide, walleye pole, tackle, line, boots and 6" lazer. Now I just need ice.

Where do they sell them ice chaps. I read about them and they look pretty neat at keeping a runaway auger from cutting you all up and keeping the backspray of the auger when you pull it up out of the water off you.

I got a pair from the daughter for x-mas.
Cabelas has them for $ 14.99 i think.
I think they are going to keep my knees and shins dry.

Hey Smeltshack. Yep, thats where they are, $14.99 . And if you dont have one already, pick up the ice dipper mounted to a hockey stick. You cant break the scoop, flexes to get skin ice off, and floats if you drop it in the hole! Fart...

Yep a number of things but I think the best is the NILS 6" hand Auger. after I left my wife a post from Tony on Ice that he had them and for a great price,.. she ordered one for me and got it for Christmas and about an hour ago I drove to a lake to try it. I have tried most brands of augers and had my doubts that these were quite as good as some people said but after using it I'm VERY impressed! I think its as good as people said they are. I will be leaving the big power auger home unless the ice gets very thick or I need bigger holes for different fish. BTW the 6" hole looks more like a 7" hole due to the way this cuts,..

My "Sweetie" got me the soft case for my FL-18 and the mag shield for the display(cheaper then a new pair of specs !! LMAO!)

I must have really pulled the wool over Santa's eyes this year, I made out like a bandit. A new fish finder, a nice Frabil jigging rod and real, a couple lighted tip-ups for night fishing, a slew of lures and jigs, and a real cool (actually warm) pull over hood.
