I would try the outside weed edges first. You locate some green veg. and fish should be there, also any type of conour change in the bottom what ever it may be is worth a check.

it depends on what type of fishing you are fishing for. i would fish for northerns and walleye off the edges of structure, but if you fishing for gills i would stay right in the veg.

I'd try one right on the edge, 2 in the middle, 1 a little above the vegetation, the other right on or in it, and put the fourth a little outside the edge of it.... keep in mind the depth and extra structure changes around to try and help you figure out where you want to try and start... hope it helps.

Not enough ice or time... not necessarily in that order.

95% of the time i fish for panfish,in small to mid size lakes,i have found that
if i start -IN- the WEEDS at first ice[4in] and move out as the ice thickens
i move to deeper water, i drill 5 holes just brake through the ice and do not
clean the ice out till i am ready to fish the hole,i never use my auger to clean
the holeout[panfish can be spooked by noise] there is one bay in the watervliet
res. that i have to wait 1/2 hr before i start fishing this bay is real shallow but
it has big gills
rat ;D ;D ;D
