Why do I keep coming back?
« on: Mar 16, 2007, 08:56 AM »
OK, my ice season here in SE PA ended recently.  I know I won't be getting back out this year.  But I keep coming here to see what everyone else is doing - even though I keep going to MFF too.

Why?

Am I trying to live through you guys up north?
Is it habbit?
Have I lost my mind?
Am I just avoiding doing work?

I know I'll be coming here in the middle of the summer probably -  a couple of times a month.  The nearest ice will be in my freezer, but I'll be here - even if I don't post.

Am I the only one?

It  is an ADDICTION, and sadly :) yes, I suffer from it to. But do not worry. Head to www.myfishfinder.com This will ease the withdrawl.

It's OK.  The first step in recovery is admiting you have a problem.  We are all here to help you.   ;D

MFF is just as bad in the winter.  I'm here every day in the winter and also at MFF???  ::)  Maybe I should just quit my work.

"Honey, I decided to quit working.  I'm going to spend every day fishing/ice fishing and reading about fishing/ice fishing on line.  Please arrange to have someone come in and shovel snow, mow grass, etc. because I'll be way to busy to do it.  Also, can you bring me my meals onto the ice/boat/shoreline?  I don't want to leave a hot spot.  Bring beer too."

"Get out"

"Can I take my gear?"

I think you true IS diehards should start a thread that all of us fellow ice fishers can check into all summer long.

Hello, My name is Bill.  I fished more this year on the ice that I have in all years past, and still didn't get enough.  I was trying right up until that last slushy time out on the lake, that time the access road was deep rutted mud and goo, that time when the sleds overheated because they are fan cooled instead of liquid cooled.  I ran out of bait and had to beg some off a local.  My heavy shack got mired in slush and I ripped the tow hitch off my sled. I spent 9 consecutive weekends at camp out of the last 12 weeks (I drive 6.5 hrs one-way to camp!).  I had one frozen pipe earlier this year, and was cutting copper and sweating a few joints at 3 am one trip!   I think I have a problem.
