PowerBait
« on: Feb 22, 2007, 04:42 PM »
I have been bouncing around the site, and have decided to give PowerBait a try for rainbows.  Can anyone tell me how to use for both jigging and on tip-ups?  I will be using pimples and rapala's on the jig.

I love a flag!!!!

I've had luck on just an egg hook, about 12" above the bottom.  Both tip ups and jig rods - but not actually jigging.  Just kind of haning there.  Don't forget that if your weight is on the bottom, the power bait is off the bottom - it floats.

Only seems to work for rainbows in my experience.

I've caught bows on both orange and the rainbow color.

I purchased the Captain America floating stuff. Was that a good choice?

I found the small powerbait balls cut in half on a small ice jig. I start about 2 inches off the bottom and jig it slowly  bringing it up 2-3 inches and letting it settle. After about 10 min if I don't get a bite I'll bring it up about 1-1/2 ft and keep doing that until I get a bite
