Shaker Pond in Alfred is available for night crappie fishing.  Has any body tried there?  How was it? How do I get on the ice

i have fished it before with very good luck..you can park right on 202 at the gate...it says no trespassing but i was always told they did not mind if fishermen went in..i believe they are trying to keep kids from partying in there.  never fished it after dark, but have done well in the afternoons there...havent fished it this year yet.

Shaker has crappie, bass, pickerel and perch. It is good pond to fish and you are allowed to night fish as mentioned earlier which adds to its appeal.
I go there once in a while because its two miles down the road from my house.

The Brothers of Christian instruction own the land and they have it posted, however I've heard that is a condition of thier insurance. They don't mind people using their land,if my information is correct. They want respect for their property.I doubt they would say no to anyone asking permission, just clean up after yourself.

Shaker used to be Crappie central before Arrowhead became the riegning king of Crappie fishing.

hey guys, i was mistaken about the scouts being there, they run a saperate event they may be there to.  the fellows that have put it together have done it for the kids for three years now. this will be the fourth year. all are welcome to show up, bring a kid with you and have a blast. there should be plenty of folks to help out.  i will be flying my shanty flag on a green shack, stop in and say howdy.   should be a good day temps in the thirdys and sunny.  seeya on the ice....
