Hey guys, went out last night and caught a few sunnies and a few bass. Then the sun set and I only caught one crappie. But here is a picture of the one that I did pull through the ice!!!

I guess that I am not going to complain too much about only catching just one crappie last night!

Brought the crappie I caught home Friday and stuck um on the monitor screen and mine were the same size.

Thanks guys for the nice comments, I just wish that I could catch more of them that size ya know!

I wish I could say where I caught it at but I had to promise the guy I was with that I don't reveal the location... sorry. I can tell you that I did catch this bad boy on wax worms though.

It's a nice crappie but alittle short of the iowa state record :

Crappie -4 lb. 9 oz. -21 1/4" -Green Castle Lake Marshall- 5-81 -Ted Trowbridge ,Marshalltown

2 winters ago I caught 40 that size in one day on a small pond by Lake Panorama! Definitely not close to the state record but a nice eater! Need a few more for the skillet!

When I call someone a "putz" I don't mean it exactly the way it's defined on urbandictionary.com. I use it FAR more playfully than that. I'm sure Marnis is too. I'm actually shocked that people from around these parts would be confused by the use of the word "putz".

Anyway, I had a good weekend too. Caught ALOT of bluegill and some bass and perch. I had to sort the bluegill but I definately could have kepted alot of them if I hadn't been lazy. I was over on Lake Galena (Illinois) using a real small pink jig with a waxworm.

So did you take some of those gills to the taxidemery too then?!?!

well I was going to but I was sooooo hungry they didn't get that far.
