31 below up here, at 7 am, that's without the wind chill.
Just got the water thawed, so all is well 8)

I don't know the exact temp when we got out there, but Timmer and I were fishing this morning and it was dang cold!!

We went to Rush, away from the crowds, in 26 FOW. We were set up by about 9:15 at for the first part of the morning, the fish were pretty agressive. Eventually they slowed down, but I was shocked to see the fish hitting the way they were. Forage minnows and demons, with wax worms and a few on crappie minnows as well. about 22" of ice where there was only about 16" last week. And it was popping like mad this morning.

-40f and-40c are the same, either way that is stupid cold man!

I picked up a hood that closes down around my eyes and goes down to my shoulders. I am going to tuck it into my coat. I also got a pair of ski goggles to seal off my eyes. I spent another $90 on a new pair of Lacrosse snow boots rated to -80F. They are like the old ice king boots, only taller and double lined. I was a little scared of freezing my face and toes in this crap. I froze my little toe one time and it hurt like heck for a long time. My buddy froze his face while he was running his snowmobile and he still has scars from it. If I am gonna run run my ATV out, I better cover up.

Timmers was there with me, so I have to split the award. FYI, it was the first time I met Timmers and he gets the Haywood "good chit, seal of approval", even though he shot down one of my hot ham and cheese sandwiches.

That wind is brutal!!! Ish!!!

I should have been out saturday morning but I had to work. When I left for the shop at 3:30AM, it was 29F with a gentle west breeze. The barometer was below 30 and Id bet the fish were hungry!

Only losers like me have to work EVERY Saturday.

6 days a week for me. I work every Saturday, and most holidays except thanksgiving and Christmas. Last summer, I worked Memorial day, 4th of July, and Labor day, and new years day.

Agriculture has its downsides, I guess. $:-\$ I live 40 miles from the farm, so the gas prices are starting to hurt too.

At least I don't have to deal with the animals anymore, that is a bonus. It is no fun to have everything you own smelling like pigs. I only drive truck for them now, it is easy work and the pay is good. The guy I work for is pretty cool to, sometimes I forget he is even my boss.

The farm is not far from the Isanti-East Bethel area, so Timmer and Haywood might even know where it is.....

ENOUGH WITH THE BEER BAWLING!!!

It is all the way up to 37F in Milaca right now! It may be a fine day to take a youngster out fishing! 8)
