salted shinners

a guy was fishing with dead salted shiners today wondering if any one has tried using them with any success ::)

I tried them last year the only thing that was good about them is when i opened my box this year and they were still in there they did not stink :)

We use them all the time up here...the 31" walleye in my avatar was caught with one on a jig.  For our Red River walleye, the fresher they are, the better. 

Those year old ones are probably better for putting 3 or 4 on a hook for cats...burbot may go for them though too.

all the time. take unused ones off tip-ups and salt em. somedays dead and saltedis what the fish want

 :thumbsup: I always have a bag of salted shiners with me  ;D Spoons tipped with leftover minnow heads is my #1 bait  ;D Use it about 70% of the time I spend on the ice...I pick up frozen minnows people leave in the ice and throw them in the freezer when I get home ;D
