New Regs for no-lead sinkers in vermont waters
« on: Jan 26, 2007, 04:16 AM »
Hi

Just wanted to let members of this website know, if you come or live in Vermont, there is a new law, that you cannot use a lead sinker, that is of a weight, of?  I think it is 1/4 oz, or less, but please go to the Vermont Fish and Game website to verify the weight.  Don't get caught by a Vermont Fish and Game Warden, with them on your line, during open water, or ice fishing.  I replaced all of my lead egg sinkers on all of my tip-ups with steel egg sinkers, just to make sure. :D

It is 1/2 ounce or less.  Only sinkers, not jigs.

I do not believe you can have them in your possession while fishing, even if they are in your tackle box.  Won't know for sure until I see a warden to ask.
A bent rod is a good rod!
