Sportfishing Comeback for Rochester

Rochester will be among five sites for public hearings about bringing sport fishing back to Lake Ontario, and parts of the Niagara and Saint Lawrence Rivers and Tributaries.
A settlement from Occidental Chemical provided the $12 million needed for the plan. The company paid the money after it released chemicals into the lake system dating back to the 1980s.
Dozens of fish died over several years because of the contamination.
