Thames River Frozen yet?
« on: Jan 16, 2007, 11:32 AM »
I've been looking at some unbelievable low temperatures around Chatham, Ontario.
I'm guessing the Thames River will be fishable real soon!
Does anybody have any contacts or reports from the area?
We're looking for walleye action.
Our guys live in Cleveland and we're looking for ice ASAP.
Also, does anybody know when the deadline is requiring U.S. citizens to have a passport and how long does it take to get it once it's applied for?
Thanks in advance for your help folks.

Where exactly is Chatam again?
Not to firmiliar with southern Ontario.
I know Scugog Lake near Lindsay now has somewhere between 2-4''
I think if you cross your fingers tightly this blast of cold we are getting should start making ice real quick.
You obviously fish the Thames so I don't have to tell you that the rivers can be a very dangerous first ice trip.
Rain, sun, sleet, snow grab the minnows and let's go!

Even though I live in NH, I used to jig the Thames and I know the area. I would have to say no, Its not frozen yet. This cold weather JUST arrived. LSC Isint even frozen yet. Try calling a sports shop there.

thames river in london ont has not frozen. small lakes and ponds have just iced over last night.... as for the passport question ? i have no clue..best bet would be to enquire with canada customs. not too sure if one is required to travel from the USA to Canada... If you are travelling to chatham to icefish, your best bet would be mitchells bay on lake st claire. If you and your friends want some real icefishing action though i'd go to the bay of quinte...some monster walleye there.
