Shanty safety

how much ice is recommended for 3 guys in a shanty.....just would like to know everyones oppinion on that...thanks weidner21

Id say if you have at least 6 inches you should be good to go, as long as you have enough ice to hold whatever you are towing it out with, unless of course its a portable
Theres only 3 seasons..open water, hunting and icefishing!

4" is enough you can drive an atv on that so if you figure your foot print with an atv is at best 3 sq ft and figure your foot print in a hut 4 X 4 is 16 your way over the ATV at the same aprox weight

4" is pushing it with a quad, doesn't give you leeway for thiner ice.

6-8" for me in that situation, but I'd have to know the lake very well.

  I'm with you.  I will ride on 5" where I know the lake, and know I'm not going over any springs.
