Wow! I have an 8 year old girl myself. This story really hits home. My Heart goes out to the family of this little girl.

That's heartbreaking.

There is a lesson here to us with young ones. Just like gun safety, we all should teach our children how to survive a thin ice break through.
1. if you are not the victim, get an adult to help.
2. what to do if an adult is not around
3. what to do if you are the one who breaks through

After seeing this, I'm going to give my kids a lesson this weekend. I'm sorry I haven't done it before this.
