Carhartt duck canvas pants are waterproof after they freeze.

lol Thomas...I've been using the same pair of Cabelas Goretex Guidwear Bibs for well over 10 years.  Not ice gear but late season boat fishing stuff.  Perfect for me.  Dry and less bulky.  Layer as needed underneath

About 30 years ago, I bought the cheapest Browning Goretex pull over pants I could afford too for about $30.  To date, those pull over pants are still more water proof than anything else I've bought in price comparison.  I wish I would've afford the matching pull over tops.

Anyway I had been wearing my Columbia snowboarding/skiing pants for a long time as well.  About 20 years or so now.  It's is fairly beat up and not so water proof anymore.  But still good as long as it's not raining or I'm not laying into slush.

I once purchased some waterproof field pants for field hunting, and some hiking gortex leg gaiters...so long ago, don't remember where I stashed them or forgotten them after some moving.

For more information read my MN nice journal

Not exactly cheap but grundens rain suit breathable and waterproof and a nice addition for summer monsoon season as well. We got 31inches of rain here this summer they've held up great working construction and farming critters an veggies.
