Saw this as a combo set up at Wally World. Interesting concept, simple, inexpensive. However there is no drop button.While the description claims ambidextrous, it’s not unless you reel backwards. Frame cross members were not even deburred which I guess would be a convenient line cutter.
I emailed Shakespeare & gave them an atta boy on alienating consumers.

So you are able to bank the door on windy days. Without that bottom flap the wind would come straight through the bottom.

I'd be worried that bottom zipper would get dripped on with wet snow and slush and get iced up. Looks like it down lower than the door on a flip over, but maybe I'm wrong.

I'm with Jrjach as well. I have a older insulated otter hub with the triangle door and the bottom 1-1.5ft of my zipper always freezes when running propane heat in anything colder then minus 20. I run a fan to keep the heat circulating and it's usually warm enough to take my coat off but still keep my bibs on.

on a side note I cant handle a shack that's cranked up to 11 and feeling like the tropics.

your right, my friend had the Eskimo 650 and a zipper broke second time out along with a pole. His buddy tripped on the bottom portion and ripped it. The whole point is NO MATERIAL on the ice to trip on!!!!!!

I take it you never fished in ND with 60 MPH winds and 90 MPH gust. The wind will switch directions on you every hour. You will be chilly without that door flap.

I like that big door with the bottom flap and will be buying one. I would not buy one if it didn’t have that flap. To each their own. I am sure their marketing team was all over this and kept it since more felt the way I did about it vs you.

Yea I have seen the wind shift but if thats the case dont spend the extra money for a square open door thats not open and still has a trip hazzard. Fished in upstate NY with my Otter and it was -17 with 40 mph wind and had no trouble but wind didnt shift. I would imagine if it did I would just turn the shanty???

Nice, was already undecided between the Hawg or Otter light strip and another option comes up. Looks interesting. I'd imagine brighter but bulkier.
