My favorite lake
« on: Nov 28, 2006, 02:18 PM »
whats your favorite lake? my favorite is Glass lake in Rensselaer county. just because of the good perch fishing and the once in a blue moon rainbow trout.

i try to get in alot of fishing but with work and every thing its kind of hard. i usually get about 10-15 different lakes in before the end of the season but what counts is that I'm out there every chance i get.

Lake George is the King... but Sacandaga is my home lake grew up 100 ft from her shore she has to be my favorite ( even though you could scroll through my posts and see me curse it out for a good skunking or two).

The Sacandaga is my favorite. It is close to home so I can get there after work and wait for that monster pike. (I've been waiting for a long time). But when I finally catch a trophy it will be worth the wait. In the mean time, I'll be happy with catching walleyes.

Hemlock or Canadice.  Hopefully we can get on them this year.  I didn't brave the little ice that was there last year.  :(

THE KING!

2nd place would have to go to Simon pond, but you have to be careful of all the spot stealers up there ;).

Don't worry about those spot stealers Robb, just ask iceenut. I know how to take care of those guys   :flex:.

Am I the only guy that lives within a quick 45 minute drive to Lake Goerge not calling it their favorite lake?   :o

Maybe it is because I primarily target walleye and crappie and have closer lakes which produce those for me.   ;D  The King is a great lake but definitely not my first choice for a day of fishing.

It was my own fault anyways. I jigged up a walleye and told the boys on the radio, next thing I know there are 15 fellow shanty members around me jigging up fish. Next time I'll keep it to myself ;).

Sound like a good idea.
Those radio's can kill ya, cause you never know how many people will hear you.
Maybe you need to make up code words for the group you fish with the most,
You know what I mean....."Like lake tanglefoot" .
Where is that place anyway, I can't find it on my map ;)2 .

I love fishing on the King but also fish a lot of the other lakes we have in Adirondack region.  Lately I like the challenge of trying a new lake and zoning in on a few; especially if others tell me that fish are not there.   There are some real gems out there that are overlooked, uncrowded, and bypassed by the weekend warriors.

I definitely plan on making it a camping trip...the place we were last year was AWESOME.  This year I'll make sure to actually bring a tent and sleeping bag though.  :D As far as the Northern Challenge, I'll let the public speak...If that's what you guys really want to do, we'll do it...No trucks allowed on the ice for that weekend though...Keep that in mind...Think about how much stuff we had last year...  ::) Anyway, I'll start a new thread for this!
