First Outing

Got out on the ice for the first time this year and met up with masspike. Arrived at our spot around 6. Finished setting up around 630. It was still dark out when I had one flag go up. I get to the trap and there is a ton of line out but no more movement. Reset the trap and about an hour later it goes up again. I get to the trap and the line is screaming and then it stops. I pull the trap out and start pulling on the line and I feel a decent fish on the other end and the line starts to move again. I set the hook and after a few mins I pull this guy out of the water. James has one flag too with a lot of line out. Ended up leaving around 11 as a lot of ice skaters started to show up and there was not a lot of safe ice in a small area.

Thanks Dick & Jon. This is my second pike. The first one was much smaller. Probably only about 12” caught on the same pond a few yrs ago.
