Seagur IceX Packaging

As stores are getting ice gear on the floor I noticed Seagur IceX with a gold colored label.  Can't seem to find anything on line about another variation and the packaging reads the same as the previous light blue labeled product.  Anyone aware if there is a change in product or if this is just changing the color of the packaging?  The blue light blue version is my favorite line for ice fishing and most all of my rigs have it on them.

Hmmm...they show both on their home page... "Gold label"  and IceX"  but under IceX, just the blue label...

This is what is confusing to me.  I know Seagur has a "Gold" line but what is out now is that gold color with the exact same wording as the light blue IceX and says "IceX" on it....strange.

just a quick comparison of the lines, the gold label comes in a 25 yrd spool vs 50 yrd. the line diameter on the Gold is a tad thinner. Gold label comes in sizes 2-50 pound test vs Blue 2-8 pound tet.

rdammah - Yes, that info seems to be correct about the Gold Label.  What I have and am seeing is a Gold Label IceX.

If you just called them you could probably get the real answer instead of all the guesses.

Could do that, Hawg.  Or, could ask the question on a reputable Ice Fishing message board...about an ice fishing product...about a product that is made by a sponsor of said message board...  either way, I guess.

Mystery solved....excerpt from the response from Seagur:

"They are the same product.  We recently updated the packaging to a yellowish orange to help the product stand out on the shelfs."

same product? just changed the label? the light blue label is $9.99 for 50 yards. the newl label is twice the price for half the yardage, so the gold label is 4 times the cost. Mmmmmmm........ Something's not right

Rdhammah: I think you’re looking at the gold leader line.  My guess is that the good folks at Seagur didn’t anticipate the potential confusion with a yellow, a gold, and this orange-ish/yellow-ish all in there lineup.  Great line, my favorite ice line…but a strange move.

exactly what i was doing. their website still has the iceX in the blue label and the only line in their lineup is the gold label leader line.
