Please welcome Vexan Fishing - Rods, Lures, Gear, Tackle, and Apparel.https://vexan.com/
Going to try to hunt more here..but olady and kid can hunt and i will probably fish.some of the best river fishing is in the fall.im just a better fisherman than hunter.
Was at the Grandville, MI Cabelas on Sunday 9/25/22. The "ice room" is where the Bargain Cave used to be....for the most part it was still "under construction" but all the ice lures are up along with their allotment of SM augers. Looks like they just had last years leftovers for rod/reels and a few Otter shanty/accessories....no ice electronics yet. Talked with the kid setting it up and he said nothing really new this year, which i already knew. He said that what they have now & get soon is it for the season, when it's gone it's gone....they don't have the ability to re-stock.
Yes Hilltop has greatly improved the last couple years....and now with the new owner i have no doubt they'll have everything i'll ever need. Was only at Cabelas to try to use my Cabelas Bucks.....only ammo i swear they didn't have was 300 win mag....which is what i was looking for.
Freezer is filling up, 3 more does and ill be good, still have the top 2 shelves set aside for fish, got a few packs of walleye left, last year treated me pretty ok on the walleye front, gonna try and do a shelf of eyes and a shelf of perch this year if all goes according to plan
Well we will see if the plan works lol, we dont eat beef much in our house anymore, maybe 5-10 lbs a year, it has really made a difference in the health of my guts, beef is just so fatty it really gives me a hard time, venison is so much leaner. As for fish, i really only like perch walleye and whitefish, occasionally panfish, though i detest having to clean gills, scales like a darn alligator gar lol..... And its so expensive in the stores, so i do my best to get enough to last us the year, now if i could just find a wild substitute for chickens id be golden!
You need to get one of these. Perfect for skinning panfish. Lots of 'em on Ebay. Game changer for me.
oh yeah the old townsend fish skinner.the older ones with the metal wingnut handle work great but the newer ones have a red plastic knob that breaks off very easily.
I have 1 of each. I use the metal one. The plastic one is new and I want to keep it that way.
