that is definitely not 42 lbs-it just looks really big because he is holding it away from his body-I am thinking high 20's.
Went out today-slow, only got 3-only 3 flags all day
I would be really leary to drive off the lake tomorrow afternoon-not looking good near the shoreline

That fish is no where near 42.   I like to see big pike pic's and it is a nice fish, but no where near 42, I would guess low 20's.

We used the road all weekend.  As of yesterday there is LOTS of standing water on the road and the land road is getting quite muddy.  Still driveable with a 4x4 but not sure for how long.

pcsminer Cant believe you caught 19 fish...  Well I guess I can believe it as it seemed everytime we looked up you were out of the shack pulling another fish out.  We on the other hand had NO luck at all along with a lot of other people we talked to.  You have to be in the right place at the right time as we tried four different spots off the end and to the side of the road from 6' - 20' of water and the pike weren't biting.  We were using tipups with hearing, sardines and mackerel.  Probably no more than 7 flags all weekend and only one 10lb pike to show for it.

Holly molly now that a giant pike.
I am not sure about the weight but I hope it's a new provincial record.
In any case it's a fish of a life time.

Way to go pcsminer that a awesome number of pike.
Way to go on your 29 lber, that's another monster fish, can't wait to see photos of her. 8)

We stayed at the Shore Bird Inn (the new hotel there) it seemed quiet this weekend.

The smallest of the weekend was a baby at 5.5lbs all the way up to a hair under 29lbs with the majority at 13-17lbs with a few 20's

All right ladies and gentleman here are a few of the better (bigger) fish of the weekend

And Finally The Big One
28 lbs 11oz...46" length  23" girth

Don't be mistaken this kid is a mere 6'3" 220lbs

The road into the lake for the last mile or so is going to be really rutted up also.

well,
that completes another year on tobin at the flats. Went out today for a while-just one fish 12.5 lber-packed it in early-bite was pretty slow
Had a good year-never jigged a line all year-all tip-ups on the flats-took friends and family out-got my dad a 32.1 lber in febuary and my buddy a 27. Biggest I got was 24 (a couple of them), lots in 15-23 lb range this year. Tobin is a world class pike fishery so please respect it so we can all enjoy it for years to come.  Let the big ones go!!!

EMT
ps-I only have one complaint this year on Tobin and it probably does not apply to too many people on this site but DO NOT DRIVE TRUCKS AND SLEDS THROUGH PEOPLES TIP_UPS.  IF YOU SEE SOMEONE FISHING TIP_UPS- DRIVE 25 meters around their spread. Next year I will be out with a paintball gun with pink pellets!!!!
