You know there was a time not very long ago we used to hike the extra few miles a get rewarded with some monster brookies, ,but alas those days are gone.

I've caught bigger brookies this year than any other. Except for Camp, every lake I've fished brookies at has yielded some of the biggest, healthiest brokies I've ever caught. I say that the folks at MoE are doing a bang-up job with their assessments and stocking program.
Snuck out of a chem class to hit Willow for 45 mins or so.....Caught three....lost a MONSTER at the hole that was definitely over 4 lbs.......biggest I've ever hooked there....Just a couple pics:

Gooood day on the hardtop

Landed about 20, lost about 10. Matt got the biggest at about 27 1/2".......you're lucky I'm an honest kinda guy fish-slayer

My biggest was a hair under 26" but I didn't bother to tape it for the tourney.

I started with this little guy in right off the first drop:

Had a real deformed mouth

Then Matt got his first hardwater rainbow....Beauty!!

About 2 mins later he comes up with this beast, bigger than his first one, he was POed he kept the first one lol

After that it was slow for a bit and I did some moving, hooked a few, lost a few, landed a couple dinks, then I came back to the orignial spot and hammered my big one for the day, maybe an 1/8th under 26" and FAT

Then I hit two more average sized ones back to back

Matt gets another average one:

Few more off and on, I lost two monsters....not a happy camper at that point

While I'm cussing out the trout I just lost, Matt hits this one:

Then he walks away to drill another hole, rod in water, you know what happens, BAM! Down she goes! Race for the rod, he gets it just as the second half was sliding into the hole, hookset! Fish on! Got a vid of this one but there might be a bit of a cussword in there so I won't post it, here is the fish, the biggest of the day:

We had a blast today. Didn't manage to land the beast I was looking for but I have a feeling I hooked him.....outfoxed I guess

My camera has a superfine macro setting but it usually takes me at least 3 to 4 shots to get one that isn't blurry. Even my last one from willow, the mouth of the fish is blurred. Keep trying, you'll get 'er. The last one with the fog is really cool.
