HELP!!! Reading Navonics For Ice Fishing…Structure

what do you look for when reading navonics

In the top pic that 11ft point that sticks out into 40ft of water gives me a fish boner. Set up on top of that about an hour before sunset and fish jigging raps and spoons until it gets dark for walleye.  Anywhere there is variation is a good starting point, areas where you can try different depths like humps and points.

That hump in the middle of the channel in the second pic with the canyon running next to it looks pretty tasty as well.

Looks like you are using the Navi web portal if you have a certain depth that you are wanting to work in than go to the menu Map Options and move you safety depth to a range in which you want to fish. There is a slider that goes from 0-60 ft. Myself, I like to fish in the 15-20 foot range. That said I have my slider set at 15 ft. and that lets me go and Directly look at places with drops either starting or ending in that range.

The shading is great although I do not think it is available on the Web Portal for Navionics. You need a paid subscription or a graph with the card and options.


jeffro9 In the 3 pics you have shown above those bunched up black lines that show up on a flat in the 15 - 20 foot range is where I would set up for a fish. That is me and how I would try, hoping the fishing gods agree and give me some.
