Nils cutting head changed?
« on: Jan 18, 2021, 02:03 PM »
Was bored just looking around and I see the Nils heads now are different than mine.

Mine has 2 sets of blades. One is a tiny pilot set.

They dont make them like that anymore?

I thought that was the best part of it

They've always had 3 different head options - the black head, the standard red head and the powerpoint red head.  Sounds like you are looking for the powerpoint head.  Seems like Fish USA might be out of stock on those but I know Marine General has them, probably some other places too

Ok I see

I did not see them on the Nils site., but then I may have missed it

Yes mine has like a pilot drill in the center

When I bought this probably 20 years ago I think it was all they made. They didnt have all the varieties they have now that i know of anyway

Beside the power point, standard red, and black Slick blade, another Nils (Heinola) has one spike for a center point.  Those are older blade and often made of thicker steel.
