I have. One day that was the only flags I had but could never keep them from steeling the hot dogs

Yup. Half a dog on treble harness. They gulped em down. I think they'd eat anything though!

That's no joke. I caught a couple on sweet corn one time fishing for carp. That was a bit of a puzzler 🤨

Also, related to the topic... I've used hot dogs to catch northerns and catfish. The trick is keeping the dang gills and rock bass from nibbling it away. Also tends to be a bit of a dink magnet on the pike side, in my experience. I have gotten some nice channel cats on them, though.

How else should you cook them ??? another reason to bring them as bait. if you don't catch fish, you don't go hungry!  ;D

Hot dogs... Like Mark Twains' cigars, the cheaper the better. It's probably the high fat content that carries aromas. This part of the country it's Bar-S franks. Better if marinated in salt and fresh garlic.
To fish or not to fish? That's a stupid question!

BarS are what I use, too. They're too gritty to eat, anyway 🤢

I actually still have a pack hiding in the fridge I never got around to using up on catfish this summer. 😂

Yep. If you try to eat 'em, take a bite and think, "I should pack my wheel bearings with this" you're on the right track...
