What jig is this??
« on: Oct 23, 2020, 11:15 AM »

Does anyone know if this type of jig has a name or if anyone sells one similar? Its a very thin teardrop shape and I believe it is tungsten. I've found jigs similar but not thin like this and having one side being reflective. Its almost as thin as a blade on a lure. Any input helps. Thanks!

Looks like an inexpensive little jig that 100 different companies make to me. I doubt its tungsten but I could be wrong. Looks too thin for tungsten, tungsten jigs are crimped on and painted not poured. Tungstens melting point is very high and would deform or take the temper out of hooks.

Itís either a poured lead teardrop thatís been plated and painted on one side or a old style plated blade with the hook soldered on. Pic not clear enough to tell which

I think it's the plated blade with a soldered on hook as Missileman noted.  I have a few that are similar.

There are a few companies that paint them on, usually with epoxy paint. This tiny stuff probably holds up ok.
