MIDDLEBURY VT
« on: Feb 25, 2020, 11:13 AM »
Hi,
Just looking for some info and advice. I'm going to be
in Middlebury VT this weekend and I want to fish on
Lake Champlain. How far would I have to go to get on safe
ice ? Thanks in advance for any info I may receive.

Mike

I've heard they have been fishing by the Crown Point Bridge, the lake has froze about up to Button Bay and beyond in some coves.

here's the statewide list...you can search Addison county and it narrows it down.

I wouldn't go on the ice as far up as Button Bay or Arnold's Bay either, last few days have been warm and it already looked sketchy last week.  From the Bridge to about Potash Bay was good last time I was out (Thursday) with 7 - 10 inches of ice.  Not sure how much the warm weather has melted things, so be careful.

Good quality bait nearby can be found at BJ's Farm Supply on Panton Road in Panton and Rack & Reel on Rt 7 in New Haven.  Good people running both places too.
