favorite piece of non fishing gear you bring with you

I have a 50lb magnet I keep with my ice fishing gear, I started carrying it one year after my auger had a bolt break and fell down the hole managed to fish it out and save a day of fishing with the magnet. Again today my truck keys were in a breast pocket that is normally zipped I forgot to zip it up before checking my traps and when I bent over my keys went down the hole and to the bottom of the lake. Luckily I carry an Aqua vu and that magnet after losing 2 hours of jigging for fish I managed to jig up my keys and finish the day!

My non-fishing must bring; Binoculars. From watching eagles, shoreline activity, flags, and other wildlife, I am always upset if I don't bring them.

I always bring my 22-250 so given the opportunity I can chase a wolf.  The otter I got last weekend didn’t know what hit him.  The gun is probably more important than my fishing rod.

Unfortunately I don’t fish many areas that would allow hunting opportunities, but I always have my compact 40sw on me. Besides the varmints, the only thing in season for me world be snowshoe hares.

I have a USB battery pack that I can use to charge phones, run a lantern and recharge a speaker.  Even in the cold it works like a champ, it's compact and it's a great piece of mind.  I got it a few years ago for maybe 50 bucks and it has been great for weekends in the field or at camp.

Fish whistle is always a must for me on the ice. Followed closely by labatt (or whiskey or both ) and my speaker. Need to get a pair of binoculars though. On my list, just haven't yet. Sunglasses are also crucial if you're fishing exposed. If i have my machine out with me, i always make sure to have some starter fluid on me in case something starts acting up. has helped me limp the quad back to the vehicle in low gas situations.
