Whats wrong with me?

It is going to be 85 degree's here and i recently purchased a Eskimo Siera thermal (anniversary gift) I haven't even assembled it yet and all I can think about is being out on the ice?!?! Am i alone here, i'm enjoying the summer and all being in the pool, going to the cottage, hanging with the grand kids..etc etc. Cant wait!

My favorite seasons are:

Winter Ice Fishing
Spring Fishing
Fall Fishing
Fall Hunting

All the rest of
the days that
I can't fish or
hunt...

Summer

And if I could squeeze a few more seasons in after fall hunting and before summer sweating, I would.  I hate summer and everything that comes with it; mowing grass, heat, humidity, biting bugs, sweating, a/c and closed windows, tar & chips, road construction.  I could go on and on.   :roflmao:

x2 slayer! I'm really not much of a fan of summer fishing. Too hot, too much boat traffic, plus plenty of other stuff to do. Once the water starts cooling it just gets better and better. I only take a break in November to collect some venison and then I'm back on the water till I can walk on it.  ;)2

The summer heat makes me dream about being on the ice too! I brought my lake trout jig rod out in the boat yesterday to do some practice, but nothing came to bite.

My wife and I agree with you, even in N/W Ontario, summer is the worst season of the year.  When it gets over 70 degrees F it is too hot, the bugs in the bush don't let up until about now.  Mid-August on is great, it starts cooling, walleye on the humps, moose and grouse season opens September 15th, life is good.

Nothing wrong, I'm ready for some ice myself. I bought all my wood pellets for the heating season, bring on those sub zero temps.

I'm itching to unbox my (under $200!!!) Clam Scout XL Thermal DN found last May. Patience. It's taking up less space the way it sits right now. I don't wanna move stuff to store it with the other gear.

What I should be doing is mapping my lakes while it's open water. I keep forgeting to push the "record" button on my sounder

You are not alone I have had ice fishing on my mind since the beginning of July. I got to where I pulled all my gear out and went through it all. It got worse when I was just at the Clam pro day. I was able to see and handle the new items for this year and it really made me want winter even more. now it will get really bad for me starting September 9th when I go to work pulling the retail tackle orders for Clam. Do that for the month of September then come October I will switch to pulling all the will call orders. nothing like getting to handle ice fishing stuff daily to build my desire to get out fishing even more.

 It is like we used to say at  a factory I worked at, we are all here because we are not all there. P.S. I hope we don't get as much snow as we have had rain. Flooding in Nebraska mid to late August is insane. I know we are not the only ones.

I'm hoping you guys get your wish for early ice and I get mine! I got my tomato plants wiped out from the bad storms that brought us a dozen tornadoes to the area.  :o I replanted and they are coming right along so I'm hoping and praying for a nice long fall so I get some 'maters. Then the bottom can fall out of the thermometer and we get good ice for a change down here!!  :icefish:
