Fishing Oneida lake
« on: Jun 10, 2019, 08:00 PM »
Hey guys and gals; found out we are heading to New York around the 19th of June; visiting family around the Syracuse area. Oneida Lake was my old stomping grounds before joining the military in the mid 80's. Wondering if anyone can steer my towards a decent guide or possibly some tips on what may be happening in late June in that area. Any info would be greatly appreciated; and it doesn't have to be Oneida Lake. Thank you in advance. Eyecrosser

Thank you for that; I've heard of Tony Buffa; he's been at it a long time. Looking into Scriba.

We decided on going with John Gaulke for Lakers; we had a fabulous day both weather and fish wise. John is a great guy and very knowledgeable guide. For the day we caught one Brown Trout around 5 lbs. and 18 Lakers between 4-13 lbs. We missed several fish as well; and had several Rainbows and smaller salmon hit almost right at boatside and couldn't get a hook into them. Loved the technique we used and those Lakers not only hit hard but fight hard. Great day on the water with my son and son in law; will definitely be back. Thanks again for all the help here.
