They are driving all over the lake, I was up there yesterday at sanders bay and saw several pickups driving around.

Although this does not mean ALL waters will be safe, the ice in Moultonborough Bay (near Suissvale) was roughly 28" thick.
There will ALWAYS be circumstances that can affect ice conditions, so think before you decide to drive out.

I drilled 20” on the big lake Saturday, and the hole 10’ away was 4” of ice. Granted there was a good reason for the ice change (pressure ridge and bubbler doozy), but I was shocked at how quickly it dropped on what looked like a good sheet of ice.

Its really amazing what some flow can do... The little pond I live on has a flood control unit in the levy, around that unit the ice will go from 20" to open water in just a couple feet. Learned a lot about reading ice and ice safety walking around on it with a spud.
