I am new at this so don't laugh too much .
I'm trying my hand at taxidermy and so far I'm enjoying it a lot !
It actually kind of suprises me how easy it really is once you start .
I know... the hard part is yet to come ... THE PAINTING .
I have a good air brush and compressor with an in line water separator to avoid water and I have used it for other projects so with a little luck and a lot of something I don't have <paitents> it will all work out .
Anyhow back to my question .
Does anyone use borax from local stores and where do you get it ?
I know taxidermy supply houses have it along with the mache but there has to be other places locally that have these items at better prices and larger quantities .
I know you don't need a lot of either but if you don't feel you have enough for a project and don't want to wait for mail where do you go ?
My first project is a slob perch my son caught and he let me use it for my guinea pig .
In taxidermy measurements it's .....Measurement a= 11.5 " b= 10 " c= 11.5 "
I think it's wall worthy !
Any suggestions from the pros would be greatly appreciated .
