Waterproofing Ice Armor
« on: Jan 01, 2019, 11:43 AM »
What’s everyone using to waterproof your Ice Armor coat and bibs after laundering? My suit is like 4 years old and I’ve washed it at the end of every season.

Could also use a mixture of Linseed oil, lacquer thinner, and beeswax. Heat till all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated. brush on and let dry. Then take a blow dryer and re-heat it while on the garment and let is soak into fabric.

I think i would avoid using that one synthetics and use a spray mentioned about but that use my experience with both products. I wouldn't think that is would bond well unlike using it on leather or cotton Ect that will absorb it.

I have used the NikWax products for a long time with great results. Contacted Ice Armor about the use of NikWax and they said it was fine.

I have my suit for 4yrs never Did anything to it. Just wash it once or twice a year and hang it to dry.

I use the Nickwax products and they work extremely well.  One thing  you learn on this stuff is don't use regular laundry soap, use their TechWash and then the appropriate water proofing product.  I tried it without the tech wash and the results weren't near as good.

Shop for it on amazon, they usually have the best price.
