At 9*F?????

That's not bad weather...........belo w zero with wind gets iffy........I don't think it is to bad until you get -18 to -20 below then top that with 10-50MPH winds I'm staying home......Even the negatives aren't to bad till you either get wind or double digit negatives....

Shanty and a heater make a world of difference. I admit I won't go with them anymore.

9 degrees is fine.  Was out the other day at 1 degree.  No issues that day d/t no wind.  Gonna go out on Friday, which is to have wind chill at negative 25.  Bringing the shanty that day with the heater.

9* varies a Lot to a body depending on your age and your circulation. Possibly think how your body might feel if you add 25,30,35 or more years onto it. 9*'s might be feeling cold to you also by then.

I need to rethink this a bit ~ If I add only 20 years, that will make it 2038, yikes!!!   I' ll be a hundred.      :woot:     WE BAD !

walking to our spot a buddy and myself had our eyes watering, then freezing together momentarily between blinks. Odd thing was it was only 11 degrees, not that cold but it was silly. Didn't jig outside the tents for more than 2 minute's and none of us bothered putting any rigs outside.

Getting too old or getting too lazy, not sure which. At 9 degrees with just a little wind I find tip ups freeze in the holes too quick and have to be chipped out. Even the disc types that cover the holes get locked in. I usually wait for 15+ and no or very light winds before I get out these days. The old bones in my knees and finger joints just don't work like they used to so I always take the heat and shanty.

Is this an Oxymoron? I am a fair weather ice fisherman.

How about you guys give us our nice weather back.  We went from a nice comfortable 30 below to a wet miserable rainy windy 45 above in just 3 days.  I’ll take my subzero over that warm crap any day of the week now give it back.
I was born an Alaskan I just didn't live here at the time.

Don't worry! We are just borrowing your sub zero crap and will give it back as soon as our ice gets safe. ;D

How come no one uses the ° symbol on their keyboard?
It must be something in the water.

Well, If we knew where it is we might use it. Looking now and it must be hiding.

I never used to get cold. I use the same boots and coverals however My feet and hands get cold. My father-inlaw and mother-inlaw are 95 and 96. There house is between 78 and 80 deg. My fater-inlaw will have a flannel shirt and a wool sweater on.  I start sweating just looking at him. However being that age and having a good daily bowl movement is something to talk about!

With a Linux-based Chrome Opsys with apps and data residing in the cloud rather than on the machine, you have no control over ASCII display.    :woot:

With Arthritis in both thumbs,One hip both knees and Planter fasciitis in one foot and of course Titanium in my back from 2 surgeries I am glad the cold hasn't stopped me yet.  Did I mention I get a lump in the back of my neck from years ago tearing all the crap in it? I think it is what gives me the most trouble. Makes it feel like my neck was hit with a bat and is bruised real bad.

Hoping to keep on going for at least another 10 years.

Sigh... sissies.  ::)

I'm 63 and still don't care. Call of the ice is too strong. If I got the time to go, I go. Never look at the thermometer.

Whoaaaa! Another country heard from. Go Reb! :woot:
