MyFishFinder.com Just like iceshanty but warmer
(Image removed from quote.)Well actually it's a cast of a European yellow perch (Perch fluviatilis) I painted like a yellow perch for a customer. Didn't like the original fins so I attached fins from a 19 inch walleye. Picture doesn't do it justice but I did use a cell phone. It's not picking up the metallic base under the yellow/orange color or the richness of the yellow/orange. And some of the fins look clearer than they actually are. For those of you that don't know European Yellow Perch get much bigger than our North American Yellow Perch (Perca flavescens).Fish is painted on both sides.
Are they tasty like our perch?
Chopped and channeled. Custom paint. Not really the fish your guy caught though is it?
Zander..
Ours are too strong for my sister in law. I gave them a lb. of filets off of some nice size yellow bellies with the skin on. She made my brother take the skin off of them before she would cook them. She said they were too strong.Yet She likes large mouth bass. I did say she was my SIL. I guess that is my brothers problem.
Actually he's not proporting to have caught it and not even hiding the fact that it's really a cast of European Yellow Perch. He just wanted a replica of the biggest perch I could produce for him. Ironically the vendor for the blank is located in Florida.
Both excellent fish , the cast is awesome , the Zander and walleye world records are the same at 25-# last I knew , here where I live in NY a big eye will go 10- 14#
am I the only 1 that wants to move to Europe now ?
I don't believe there are any euro perch in the USA but there is one lake in central North Dakota with a few Zander in it.. Spiritwood. They were stock about 30 years ago and every so ofter some one pulls one out.
O.K. I stand corrected.
Nice looking mount.18" perch that's a whopper!
