fish finder 6v or 12v?
« on: Dec 13, 2017, 11:48 PM »
im wanting to take the fish finder off my boat for ice fishing and I'm wondering
if I can use a 6v battery instead of my 12v kinda heavy to be luggin out on the ice. any advice would be great. I'm using a toolbox and mounting the screen on the top and have battery inside box.
be safe out there, and tight lines to all!

Your fish finder needs a 12v, but not as big as you're thinking. A 7-9amp hour SLA 12v works great for most units.  If you want to think about going to a lithium battery, there's a group buy forming now that can save you some cash.

12 v battery for fishfinder will last for days of fishing with my Elite 4 CDI. cost less then 30 dollars and weight is only a few pounds.
