Ice is over 30". It's all covered with 1-2" of snow. Some drifts look whiter to be avoided, or they slow the car down. Few people can be seen on either side of Gardiner dam. True, it's the slowest period. One perch, one tullibee. Flasher is mostly quiet except for some suspended tullibbees passing by.

If some one knows how to get those cruising suspended tullibee to commit, it would be better action than perch. I only know they are suspended in over 30' of water.

Got out last night near Danielson. Burbot bite was on with walleyes providing some variety.

Caught a suspended goldeye half a mile off shore, and got  stuck on the way back. Two nice fishermen helped me out.

Just outside the mouth of the bay at East Danielson. It's one of those 10 yard wide drifts. It won't be a concern for a truck. Only the front wheels are stuck.

Anyone make it out to Palliser this weekend? How did the tourney go? Couldn't make it make it myself.

You will need an extension on dief now if this week stays in the freezing temps.  My Jiffy had about 1/2" of room to spare without the extension on.  The Ion had to have the extension on as its auger is quite a bit shorter.
The bite was good on Saturday as we iced about a dozen walleye, dozen perch a trout and a pike.
Sunday we went to a different area that was a little bit closer to home and caught one pike and lost something on the jaw jacker.  Marked alot of what I assume to be small perch in 30' +/- but couldn't convince them to bite.
If you are wondering where we caught them, it was right in the lip  ;)

Does any member can tell me how is the ice thickness and snow condition in Danielson in Lake diefenbaker? Just like to know if my Eskimo ice auger w/o extention can drill through the ice.

Thank you in advance!
Jason

Probably won't get a response.  Lol
I'm just wondering where a guy could try for some nicer pike??  Besides the info centre.  Could PM me if you wouldn't mind sharing a few areas to try??
Thx for any info.

Good day on Diefenbaker. A strong evening walleye bite made for some serious excitement in the two tents we had up. A couple of burbot and a 13.5 inch perch rounded out the fun.

Thank you. I headed out to Lake Diefenbaker yesterday. My Eskimo auger did its job and I do not need auger extention to drill through the ice. the ice thickness is same about two week ago. lot snow in the lake average about 5"thick and some drift is mort than a foot. I have a very good time on ice. got 17 perches landed and made some friends

It was tough to pull a sled yesterday in deep and  soft snow. Trucks were still driving on and made trails to several directions. Fishing was slowest this year at Danielson park east. Hopefully Coteau bay can be better for next trip.
