On days like tommorow I sit at home because I don't have a shack.  With out a shack, you just can't enjoy the fishing.  Just a personal feeling about that.  Congrats to you HE-MEN who can handle the cold.  I'm just a bit too wimpy for -20 or colder

I'm actually looking forward to sitting by the woodstove in the ice shack tommorrow.  I'll let you know how it turns out, one thing is for sure, definetly don't want any mechanical failures, c'mon polaris...

I can't imagine fishing without a shack when it's this cold out. After being able to use a shack I don't think I could go back to fishing without one when it's cold.
pour me another one, I'm finished with the other one

Jeremy - don't think of it as wimpy...think of yourself as a conservationist not willing to harm fish that you might want to release  ::)  Seriously, nobody should be fishing in the weather we've had the last few days without a shelter and heat - if you catch a fish you can't keep (like sturgeon or a slot walleye), just pulling it out of the water can be a death sentence.

That being said, I postponed a day off Friday for a week to go fishing.  I have the Clams and heaters, but you still need to get from the truck to the spot.  I had some stuff that needed doing this morning and little guy's birthday party is tomorrow, so I'm not able to get out anyway.

God grant me the Serenity to accept the size of the fish I catch,
the Courage not to fib about it,
and the Wisdom to know that no one would believe me anyway.

I have to agree with Thriller, if I would of caught this fish out in the -30 temp(with wind chill)
by the time I measured the fish the eyes would have been frozen.

Nice Rainbow ;D, I agree when it is that cold and you hold the fish for to long all you are doing is harming them. ;D ;D
