HAS ANYONE FISHED THIS POND BEFORE

I have fished once in the summer out there.  Going for northerns, but did't catch anything. (Someone from the Town of Amherst said is it full of northerns).

During the summer, weeds galore.  It is probably no more than 8-12 feet in spots.

I did see a couple of guys going back ice fishing this year, but they were gone on my way back buy.  Not sure how safe the ice is now.  I have a pond behind my house and I only have about 1 1/2 inches before last nights snow.

Hope this helps.

I got a personal message and the forum won't let me read it, so I will answer it here.

The pond on Dann Road is now owned by the Town of Amherst. There might already be signs saying so.  Just don't try and drive back there.  If you don't get caught, more than likely you will get stuck in the mud.

It is located off dan rd, between that and glen oaks golf course, easiest access is off dan rd.
This is an old nike missle base site, I would not eat anything out of it.
It does contain crappies, pike and bluegils.
You can get a truck back But it is extemly difficult to do, must have a mudder.
Fish the end near the gas lines that come in off dan, it is the deepest spot.
Be careful back there not many people travel back and rescue may be an issue if you need it.
Good luck, there are also MANY pond in clearence/newstead if ya can find em and get permission that contain big fish.
