i am not going to comment on safeness or catches because of conflicting reports but the fact is there are at least 70 or more people spread out on long, buck, cranberry and mostly braddock (at least 20 or more cars here alone) with more people headed out as i type.
haven t heard of any other local places but i bet there are people checking all over.

The fishermen were alive, too bad the fishing wasn't!

Fished Long Pond and Buck Pond this morning.  Wished I slept in.  Was at Long Pond for a few hours, saw a total of 5 perch caught between 10 of us.  Went over to Buck and caught four dinks (not much bigger than big Niagaras)!  Ice was 2-3 inches in both places.

Our friends said that they started catching decent perch at Long Pond about dusk last night and even had a few keepers.  Will find out ourselves today as this is our first attempt since Dec.

Stay off of Braddocks, its like youtr fishing in a Chocolate milkshake.  Very muddy - 1ft vis.  Perch are there, but running small.
