SLA dont last long.....im looking at getting a lithium for my LX7.
Matt? Let us know what you find out about lithium flasher replacements? Sounds like a good idea if the price is reasonable?Dick
If your flasher battery is 12 volts, you can replace it with any 12 volt battery. The amp-hours will determine how long you can go on a charge. You could even use a car battery if you wanted.
12v 10ah Dakota. $138 including a lithium charger on eBay. Might order it next week.
Not True?? Put a brand new 12 volt , from Walmart, on my FL8. It got too weak after only two hours at 20 degrees . The battery was supposed to be compatible with any Vexilar? Called Vexilar and described my new battery and they told me that it wasn't meant to handle ice fishing weather. Brought it back to Walmart and they exchanged it for what they referred to as a extreme weather battery. Tried it this morning at -5 degrees and it was fine until after 11:00 when I was too frozen??The replacement battery cost $10 more but they didn't charge me the extra fee??Dick
If you are on year 4, you are on borrowed time. Replace that thing before it dies at 9 AM on a good bite. They will read fine in a warm environment without any "load" on them, but will run down very quickly in the real world.
