It depends on what you're going to use it for mostly. If you target panfish the majority of the time get the 6''. If occasionally you need a bigger hole, just drill 2 holes right beside each other. I borrowed a friends k-drill and it connected 2 holes very well.

I'm a huge Mora fan but...

Connecting two holes is something a Mora is terrible at.. Also redrilling old holes.

Just bought the 6 myself. I typically explore a lot and end up drilling quite a few holes. No need to drill a bunch of 8 inch holes when you probably won't fish most of them. So bought the 6 and will overlap holes if need be.

Just drilled my first hole of the year with a new 8" k-drill on a 18v Milwaukee fuel. About 10" of ice. Powered through great. Will have to see how battery holds up.

Has anyone with a k drill tested how well it floats?  I'm afraid it would sink just enough to get under the ice.

I accidentally tested it, and it does float. Scared the crap out of me.

Cool thanks man, I just ordered one, and dropping 250 bucks down a hole does not sound fun.

It's no big deal.  People throw $1000 cell phones down holes evryday ;D
