Nice, a little love for pike. If you can get that y bone out, they are as good as any freshwater fish.
Its not all that hard, I've only done it a few times, but the 5 filet method is how I've cut em up.

Completely agree! Pike are excellent. I've never cut out the Y bones. I just bake them skin side down and when it's almost done the meat will shrink some leaving the Y bones a bit exposed so you can pick em out easily. This past spring was the best pike fishing I've ever seen on LA. Landed 14 ranging from 22"-36" in one trip.

caught around 15 lost as many, DOMINATOR practicing his playing technique, getting ready for the tourney. i just sock their eyes out and man handle them in,thats why i go big on the line 50#test dacron 25# test florocarbon clear.its MANO Y MANO.glad the rain blew through and the 40 degrees are through and the flurries started the wind is good if all locked up gets rid of the heat and she should start making ice again? made the best of poor ice conditions didnt chance going where fish are at, thats why i just fished the ramp its close enough if you get WET.im prepared to get WET im not going to panic as those who aren't prepared to get WET.
GOD BLESS

i was fishing near the 528 bridge straight out from the church this afternoon, the time of day i was able to fish wasn't ideal for me 12-5pm appears i had to leave just as the evening bit was starting i got 1 nice gill then had to pack up. i was out 50 yards from the old launch in 14 foot of water and had good 4 inches of ice with 1/2 snow on top.. much further toward the center from me the ice began to thin about every ten feet i walked further i lost 1/4 of ice i turned around when it got to 3 1/2 went back to the 4-5 inch stuff. a few guys where heading out onto the ice as i was coming off. don't know if this info helps just trying to contribute

i can't believe you found ice at all , i was at lake wilhem today went to the marina #2 launch and there was 2 inches of ice under 4 inches of such and water . so i went to kayle lake, it was even worse slush only any where i could reach , so i went shenango. there i found a lot of open water and wet spots through the snow so i got out of the car any way and its scim ice out 10 feet from sure then it will barely hold a rock soft ice

Dave - Thanks for sharing the side report on Wilhelm. I was up there a few days ago and it looked real bad. I thought with the snow that I got up north, it wouldn't help the ice conditions. It's a shame, as the fishing was real good just before Christmas.

Snow is not good for ice .......when we need cold nights without snow and wind to make ice....and long cold days with out the snow ...snow on ice could slow the  making of ice....  and hide a lot as  you go onto the ice....be safe
And carful do not go alone and space out as you walk out....on early ice...
Bad ice is bad for your health....walk with care....

Definitely agree. The snow acts as an insulator. I've been surprised many times in the past with the lack of ice due to snow cover. With the amount of snow up in Mercer County, probably have to wait for the next cold snap in order to have a chance to get on Wilhelm. I certainly don't need an unintentional bath to ring in the New Year.

Fished Zion last night. Couple cats, several crappie.  Ice was 4 to 5 inches everywhere I was last night.  Ice we growling and growing.  No one else out last night.
If only God would come down in the form of a man and explain everything to us.

Ya, other than Arthur & Harbor Acres I haven't heard of any fishable ice elsewhere at all. Shannon's & Muddycreek had a fair amount of fisherman on it today. It will be a mess with the rain and warm up coming.
