Thank you NY'ers!
« on: Feb 02, 2006, 12:29 AM »
This is my 500th post!
I know it is not a big deal....But it is to me.

This website has changed the way I look at Icefishing
I would like to thank all of you Shanty members for a lot of info and connections

I would also like to let everyone know that I have just opened a new restaurant in Morrisville, NY.
I am the Executive Chef of a project affiliated with the State University of Morrisville.
The Copper Turret is the name of the restaurant, and has a website.
We have a classroom and teaching facilities on premises, but are here for the general public, and have actual students working in certain aspects of the entire restaurant.

So, any and all, of you guys are more than welcome to come in and have some Grub & Grog.
I would love to cook some food for you and your family
Thanks again IceShanty :)

Congrats on number 500 and best of luck with the eatery. Just might take the wife down for dinner some weekend. Is Tuscarora Tuna going to be one of your weekly specials?

Bless you AugustWest, and congratulations. My daughter took her RN courses there,(more than two weeks ago). Some of your posts have been 'Inspirational' and we look forward to all of 'em.
Mayhap you should get together with the SUNY Cobleskill Aquaculture guy and get a bunch of the Trout they raise in the program each year. I'd be the first to sign up for a 'Dinner a-la Trout Au Blue'. We live East from there on Rt.20 in Carlisle and it would easily be worth the trip.
Cheffing is a very tough job, but also very rewarding. Take care, good luck, and tight lines.

Doug,

I grew up in Hamilton and graduated from Morrisville College in '86.  I know your restaurant well.  I have eaten there several times when it was under other ownership.  I hope you have more luck than the others.

As for trout season, you have the Chenango River in your back yard.  Some of the best trout fishing in the county.  But I bet you only fish at the college hatchery ;D
